 His name—Yamato—is that of ancient Japan, a symbol of Yamato-damashii , the Japanese spirit: discipline, restraint, absolute precision. Where Dante strikes hard and fast, Vergil barely lets the blade leave the scabbard before the enemy is already slashed.
